Almost a hundred decade has
passed and yet we are still experiencing the undying social problem, poverty. Indeed,
big questions are still clogging on our minds: how can we pass though this
problem? It seems that this social problem is like a fashion trend, an undying
topic for many centuries, an economic chismis. My professor in Sociology told us that
poverty started in the pre-historical Philippines which the first
Filipinos were nomads or those who don’t haven permanent address. I have this
thought that, poverty is our trademark.
When I was born, I already
embraced the reality; a fact that Filipino knows. We are insecure of other countries’ wealth
and progress. We are looking for someone to lead. We are looking for someone to
guide BUT let’s face the truth: poverty arouses. One thing is for sure,
population is the cause. Philippines
are one of the countries who have a big scale of number in terms of
unemployment. The country of Nauro has 90% of its population are unemployed, is
our country heading to that pattern also? Reality bites thus we can make a
change through simple innovations and also with the help of the government, in
the other hand, we depend so much in our government. One of the famous phrases
of the famous President of the United States America, John F. Kennedy “Don’t
ask what the government can do to you, ask what you can do to the government”.
As we depend too much in the government, we always blame them for the
unimproved Philippines .
We can’t blame our brothers and sisters because the big impact goes to them.
The government helps our poor
country men, YES they help our country men but not all of them are committed to
help them instead MONEY runs on their mind. CORRUPTION sets in. Population is
not the only reason why poverty occurs but also corruption. It’s not illegal to
dream to be rich, to be the famous country of all times but we are still on the
part of insecurity, we don’t have an original style today, we always copy from
the Western countries which I believe not bad but it should be limited. Our
culture comes first and by that, we can start in the process of improving but
still a question, should we give or just wait for another administration?
